Diogo Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. When Dé Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Mestre GG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dé Paiva couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Camargo in the 9th minute of play forced Mestre GG's goalkeeper Raúl de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldir Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldir Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Paiva in the 15th minute of the match. Fiori Campidelis hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Raúl de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 23 minutes Mestre GG's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Júnior Camargo who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Moisés Amaral managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Raúl de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Camargo in the 26th minute of play forced Mestre GG's goalkeeper Raúl de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Wilian Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Waldir Faria. Vascogoianiense FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Wilian Fonseca took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldir Faria. Waldir Faria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 34th minute Wilian Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mestre GG's Fiori Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 minutes, Júnior Camargo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vascogoianiense FC and the Mestre GG players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 37 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Camargo. In the 42nd minute Dé Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dé Paiva came free, but Waldir Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Célio Munhoz hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dé Paiva in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldir Faria saved Vascogoianiense FC from getting behind. Waldir Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco Mota in the 61st minute of play. In the 71st minute, Moisés Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Wilian Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Dé Paiva took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Waldir Faria to make any attempt to save it. After 91 played minutes Mestre GG got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Mota.
