The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Luisinho Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th minute, Geraldo Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, October 04's goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Sena came free, but Diego de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Maravilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toni Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Wesley Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. October 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wesley Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 17 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Teles. Diego de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Palmares Futebol Clube's Luisinho Nogueira got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 33rd minute Luisinho Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Maravilha in the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute Túlio Maravilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ismael Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego de Toledo having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Luisinho Nogueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diego de Toledo. October 04's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisinho Nogueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The October 04 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palmares Futebol Clube were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Túlio Maravilha to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vítor Sena in the 56th minute of play forced October 04's goalkeeper Diego de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Secco in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of October 04 booed when Palmares Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the game, João Vítor Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Diego de Toledo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Diego de Toledo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Diego de Toledo made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Túlio Maravilha sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, October 04's Geraldo Schmidt got a free kick in the 73rd minute. October 04 made a substitution. Claudinho Antunes replaced Pedro Paulo Paes. Geraldo Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Túlio Maravilha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Diego de Toledo. That made the score 0-3 in the 77 minute of play. Tião Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Gláuber da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Vítor Sena succeeded in the game's 83rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Vítor Sena in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego de Toledo saved October 04 from getting behind. Diego de Toledo stood somewhat misplaced when Thomás Maia came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 94 minute. The October 04 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palmares Futebol Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
