Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jailson de Carvalho made the kick off which started today's match. 9 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Furlan came free, but Mauro de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Giuliano David was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villaverde Celeste Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nova Iguaçu MZFC the free kick. A collision led to Villaverde Celeste Clube getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Giuliano David hit a great ball. Alfredo Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Vidal in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles got control of the ball when Giuliano David tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson de Carvalho in the 17th minute of play forced Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalkeeper Alfredo Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luiz Netto fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villaverde Celeste Clube's protests and gave Luiz Netto a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Valladares. The supporters of Villaverde Celeste Clube booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mané Garrincha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro de Salles having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Galvão. 40 minutes into the match, Wilson Vidal notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Villaverde Celeste Clube's Alfredo Linares. Alfredo Linares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfredo Linares came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Jailson de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Jailson de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After the first half Nova Iguaçu MZFC were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sten to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Frank Sten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute, Juvenal Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd match minute, Villaverde Celeste Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Garrincha to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Dudu Queiroz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredo Linares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mauro de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sten in the 66th minute of the match. After 67 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Cordeiro. Alfredo Linares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paulo Renato Souza showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 75 minute of play. After 77 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Cordeiro. After 87 minutes, Dudu Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Iguaçu MZFC and the Villaverde Celeste Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dudu Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute of the match Giuliano David shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro de Salles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were furious when Deivid Queirós was red carded, 90 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 89th minute, one of Nova Iguaçu MZFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for Villaverde Celeste Clube. Mané Garrincha stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mauro de Salles. 2-5. The Villaverde Celeste Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nova Iguaçu MZFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Nova Iguaçu MZFC.
