An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Ramos in the 24th minute of play forced Palmares Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Leonardo Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Túlio Maravilha came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Palmares Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Túlio Maravilha couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the match, Túlio Maravilha notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of A.A. Francana's Serginho Alagoano got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Telmo Trigo came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares Futebol Clube's João Vítor Sena. But to his dismay, João Vítor Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When Túlio Maravilha came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Palmares Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. In the 66th match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Sena to maneuver through the defense. Palmares Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francana booed when Palmares Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gláuber da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gláuber da Costa to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the A.A. Francana players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palmares Futebol Clube.
