Ladislao Mazurkiewicz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Hamílton Rezende made a huge save. In the 6th minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hamílton Rezende. Hamílton Rezende yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz got free with Hamílton Rezende in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 11 minutes of play, October 04's Allan Simões made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gianluigi Donnarumma was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joélson Paraibano in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamílton Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Ladislao Mazurkiewicz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. October 04's Hamílton Rezende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save October 04 from getting a goal against them. Gianluigi Donnarumma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Hamílton Rezende to make any attempt to save it. In the 29th minute, Allan Simões ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gianluigi Donnarumma was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Rodolfo Munhoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd play minute Joélson Paraibano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hamílton Rezende. 3-2. Hamílton Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joélson Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joélson Paraibano to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Joélson Paraibano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Hamílton Rezende was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 58 minutes into the match, October 04's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Gaspar came free, but Hamílton Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamílton Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 63rd minute of play. Allan Simões could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Gianluigi Donnarumma made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caio Rosa during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th minute of the match Durvalino Albuquerque sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gianluigi Donnarumma skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joélson Paraibano in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamílton Rezende saved October 04 from getting behind. Reinaldo Carneiro hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivo Mello during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Gianluigi Donnarumma got control of the ball when Allan Simões tried to sneak it across the goal line. October 04's Hamílton Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Paraibano in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Mello to maneuver through the defense. Reinaldo Carneiro charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reinaldo Carneiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute of the match Leopoldo Sanches sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hamílton Rezende skillfully saved the ball. October 04's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because S.E.R. Caxias do Sul had won, even though October 04 had held more of the ball.
