The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dinei Pinheiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pranas Užkuraitis's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Dinei Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pranas Užkuraitis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to SeleSantos FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jacobo Casado hit a great ball. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pranas Užkuraitis in the 30th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Pranas Užkuraitis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dinei Pinheiro was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Pranas Užkuraitis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pranas Užkuraitis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Dinei Pinheiro made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Dinei Pinheiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 45 minutes, Epaminondas Baba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Batalhão do Peçanha and the SeleSantos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Epaminondas Baba kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pranas Užkuraitis to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's Pranas Užkuraitis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dinei Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacobo Casado in the 61st minute of play forced Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SeleSantos FC were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Batalhão do Peçanha's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niilo Mikkola took the corner. After a rather tough play, Batalhão do Peçanha's Mauro Inocente got a free kick in the 64th minute. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epaminondas Baba in the 66th minute of play. If Pranas Užkuraitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petr Čech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Montenegro in the 72nd minute. Pranas Užkuraitis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dinei Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. With a little luck, Batalhão do Peçanha's Petr Čech got control of the ball when Jacobo Casado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dinei Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Batalhão do Peçanha's Pranas Užkuraitis. But to his dismay, Pranas Užkuraitis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Tróia in the 80th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's Pranas Užkuraitis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dinei Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute of the match, Jacobo Casado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Petr Čech saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 91st minute, Pranas Užkuraitis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Batalhão do Peçanha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Batalhão do Peçanha fans cheered their team off the field, for while SeleSantos FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
