But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pranas Užkuraitis couldn't finish the play. After 14 played minutes Batalhão do Peçanha got a freekick which was hit by Carter Leggeri. 15 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Petr Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilhelm Rolfsson. 17 minutes into the match, Pranas Užkuraitis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes. Sobhy Paredes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 20 minutes in the game Nando Vides did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Alfonso Leon. Pranas Užkuraitis scored 0-3 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sobhy Paredes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th match minute, E.C.Pelotas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilhelm Rolfsson to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Batalhão do Peçanha's Pranas Užkuraitis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sobhy Paredes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 32 minutes of play, Batalhão do Peçanha's Pranas Užkuraitis made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sobhy Paredes came out of the goal and Pranas Užkuraitis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sobhy Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pranas Užkuraitis in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pranas Užkuraitis in the 46th minute of play forced E.C.Pelotas's goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pranas Užkuraitis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee gave Batalhão do Peçanha a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Stéphane Ballon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes. 0-8. Sobhy Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pranas Užkuraitis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Pranas Užkuraitis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sobhy Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute of the match Batalhão do Peçanha got a corner. E.C.Pelotas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vânderson Vasconcelos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Vânderson Vasconcelos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes did a great save. When the final whistle sounded Batalhão do Peçanha left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than E.C.Pelotas.
