Dida Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leandro Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. The audience was convinced that Leandro Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Taffarel was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leandro Fonseca in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Taffarel saved Marquês de Herval from getting behind. After 11 played minutes Bene Animatus got a freekick which was hit by Guido Rodriguez. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bene Animatus's goalkeeper Juvenal Talló, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Bene Animatus's goalkeeper Juvenal Talló had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nestor Paraibano. Gaston Gonzalez hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Fonseca in the 18th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Paraibano got free with Juvenal Talló in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 22 minutes Bene Animatus's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pedro Luís da Rocha who took care of the corner kick. Marquês de Herval's Nestor Paraibano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Juvenal Talló in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 22ndth minute of the game Nestor Paraibano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bene Animatus's Juvenal Talló was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Marquês de Herval's zone, Simon Hooker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal and Simon Hooker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jardel Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Juvenal Talló showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Juvenal Talló showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 33rd minute of the match. Bene Animatus's Juvenal Talló proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Bene Animatus from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the game, Nestor Paraibano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juvenal Talló. Nestor Paraibano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The supporters of Bene Animatus booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Cano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jardel Velloso was the one to do the kick off. Bene Animatus's Juvenal Talló tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredo Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Juvenal Talló tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jardel Vellosos short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Dida Taffarel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bene Animatus's Juvenal Talló played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Cano in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Jair Bostan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Lorenzo Mendebal hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luís Prata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Luís Prata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. In the 93rd minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Talló saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Hooker, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Marquês de Herval fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bene Animatus had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
