The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Richard Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaroslaw Niezgoda in the 3rd minute of play. In the 15th minute Justino Loramendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Compostela FSCMZ's Justino Loramendi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sumaré Sport Club's Richard Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dragoş Ţiţeica in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaroslaw Niezgoda was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Sumaré Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehmet Oğuz Uram to maneuver through the defense. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Richard Fontes as he didn't even see the shot coming. Compostela FSCMZ's Naldo Figueiredo was substituted for Robert Kornatowski. Jessica Xerifão's late challenge caught a Compostela FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
