The audience thought a goal was coming when Erubiel Pacorro got free with Dida Taffarel in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fan Guang Lin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feng Qi Cheng in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Alfredo Martins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marquês de Herval fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 58th minute Sílvio de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Sílvio de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.R Perhaps's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio de Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fan Guang Lin came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins. But to his dismay, Alfredo Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 65th minute Erubiel Pacorro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Sergipano, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Sergipano in the 72nd minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Pacorro in the 74th minute of the match.
