Richard Fontes was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Renato Augusto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Renato Augusto really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 27 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Brun came free, but Esen Sanal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esen Sanal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Brun in the 28th minute of the match. Esen Sanal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Brun in the 32nd minute of play. Richard Fontes was a little too slow when Faustão Châton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 3-0. Esen Sanal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Brun went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 43rd minute Sebastian Brun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato Augusto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Richard Fontes made a huge save. Richard Fontes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Renato Augusto went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renato Augusto made a kick off. Esen Sanal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Trigo in the 54th minute. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Brun in the 57th minute of play. When Renato Augusto came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renato Augusto couldn't finish the play. Severo Gomesano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Esen Sanal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute of the match, Sebastian Brun tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Esen Sanal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 70th minute Krisztián Véber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Chmelyk in the 73rd minute of play. Many of Sumaré Sport Club's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Sumaré Sport Club may have spent more time on the ball, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
