If Iréné Reyna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kauan Albuquerque hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. If Elmar Bruch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elmar Bruch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfonso Taraborrelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Ricky Blake was a little too slow when Jaanek Oese got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Ricky Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, BOTAFOGO's Ricky Blake threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nilmar Correia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, BOTAFOGO's Kauan Melo got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20thth minute of the game Elmar Bruch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauan Albuquerque in the 28th minute of play forced BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Clube dos pro's Kauan Albuquerque nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfonso Taraborrelli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 31st minute of the match Clube dos pro got a corner. BOTAFOGO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iréné Reyna ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jaanek Oese hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elmar Bruch in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfonso Taraborrelli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho Madureira got free with Ricky Blake in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toninho Madureira made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Elmar Bruch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube dos pro's supporters rose to their feet, but Elmar Bruch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Taraborrelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricky Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Alfonso Taraborrelli managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Clube dos pro's Elmar Bruch fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to BOTAFOGO getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Gernando de Toledo hit a great ball. When Iréné Reyna came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Clube dos pro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iréné Reyna couldn't finish the play. Kauan Albuquerque hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGO's goal looked a bit too open when Kauan Albuquerque came free, but Alfonso Taraborrelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfonso Taraborrelli made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Iréné Reyna sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes into the game, Iréné Reyna recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alfonso Taraborrelli. Iréné Reyna showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. After a rather tough play, BOTAFOGO's Kauan Melo got a free kick in the 74th minute. Elmar Bruch might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfonso Taraborrelli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elmar Bruch ran back to his position shaking his head. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elmar Bruch, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Jaanek Oese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ricky Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfonso Taraborrelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elmar Bruch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricky Blake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Madureira in the 80th minute of the match. The Clube dos pro fans' excitement grew in the 97th match minute when Clube dos pro's Elmar Bruch looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Clube dos pro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
