Deportivo Empate's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Justo Mano in the 4th minute. A nice corner shot did that Justo Mano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rene Santamaria quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 5 played minutes Justo Mano shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Rene Santamaria to catch but Justo Mano was lucky. It became 0-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Freddy Padilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Kristoffer Martinsson made a huge save. 9 minutes into the match, Nickolai Skivild had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rene Santamaria. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nickolai Skivild was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nickolai Skivild in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Santamaria saved SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Nickolai Skivild's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Santamaria was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Rene Santamaria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingmar Wiman's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Rene Santamaria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Wiman, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute, Behe Abarca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ingmar Wiman took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rene Santamaria. Rene Santamaria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Kristoffer Martinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Jarquin in the 29th minute of play. Rene Santamaria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingmar Wiman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 played minutes, Deportivo Empate's Justo Mano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rene Santamaria came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Empate reached it. In the 34th minute, Otoniel Araya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Justo Mano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rene Santamaria. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Nickolai Skivild fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Empate's protests and gave Nickolai Skivild a yellow card for diving instead. Nickolai Skivild hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valentin Heredia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Valentin Heredia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kristoffer Martinsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Kristoffer Martinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Heredia in the 62nd minute of the match. Deportivo Empate's Stefano Abaunza was substituted for Silvestre Salvado. After 64 played minutes SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Vega. Rene Santamaria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Wiman, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Deportivo Empate's Evrosi Kalmushki managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rigoberto Pinto in the 68 minute of the game. 69 minutes into the match, Deportivo Empate's Behe Abarca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rene Santamaria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC made a substitution. Kenneth Loaiza replaced Benito Jarquin. With a little luck, SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Rene Santamaria got control of the ball when Ingmar Wiman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Behe Abarca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Santamaria having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Valentin Heredia got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Nickolai Skivilds short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Rene Santamaria to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 87 minutes into the match, Nickolai Skivild notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Rene Santamaria. Rene Santamaria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Rene Santamaria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC from getting a goal against them. Deportivo Empate's Kristoffer Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenneth Loaiza in the 94th minute of play. Ingmar Wiman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Deportivo Empate left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC.
