With a little luck, Sporting Cristal's Gonzalo Berdugo got control of the ball when Reynaldo Lizer tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 9th minute, Cipriano Abeita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the game, Fernando Abar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jairo Abarca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fernando Abar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jairo Abarca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oskarbi Abancens struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jairo Abarca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Cristal. After some careless play in the Sporting Cristal defense, Reynaldo Lizer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonzalo Berdugo. The Sporting Cristal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonzalo Berdugo should have stopped the shot. Afonso Alagoano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Gonzalo Berdugo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dinamo Tirana's attentive Geovânio Rosa managed to snatch the ball when Ramond Abechuco made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. Reynaldo Lizer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonzalo Berdugo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. A hard shot 30 in the game by Afonso Alagoano from a close distance when the talented Gonzalo Berdugo managed to make a qualified save. Sporting Cristal's players were relieved. Jairo Abarca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Abar in the 32nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Abar in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Abarca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 37 minutes of play, Dinamo Tirana's Reynaldo Lizer made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonzalo Berdugo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 40 minutes into the match, Dinamo Tirana's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Abar came free, but Jairo Abarca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting Cristal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sedeni Abellaneda in the 42nd minute. The corner ended in Sedeni Abellaneda almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Dinamo Tirana's Jairo Abarca did a great save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Sporting Cristal made a substitution. Serafo Abadie replaced Mino Abellaneda. Sporting Cristal's Peli Abeita was substituted for Honorio Abecia. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernando Abar was the one to do the kick off. Jacob Abarca charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacob Abarca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rexino Abecia kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Gonzalo Berdugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Lizer in the 60th minute of play. Furman Abaunza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gonzalo Berdugo. Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dinamo Tirana's Afonso Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 77 played minutes Dinamo Tirana got a freekick which was hit by Teodor Caldueño. With a little luck, Dinamo Tirana's Jairo Abarca got control of the ball when Fernando Abar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dinamo Tirana's Jairo Abarca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Dinamo Tirana from getting a goal against them. Reynaldo Lizer took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonzalo Berdugo. Gonzalo Berdugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Fernando Abar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Jairo Abarca made a huge save. Jairo Abarca made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Fernando Abar sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Fernando Abar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Cristal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Gonzalo Berdugo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Lizer, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Sporting Cristal were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
