The audience was convinced that Doido De Maré's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonas Ignazio was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Bahia Azul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 29th minute of the match Max Nuñez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacinto Chucho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jacinto Chucho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Carrillo in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Tomaso Ulloa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jacinto Chucho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jonas Ignazio stood somewhat misplaced when Doido De Maré came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 35 minute. 38 minutes into the match, C.A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Botello came free, but Jonas Ignazio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Bahia Azul's Jonas Ignazio threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Doido De Maré, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pedro Morales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, C.A. Independiente's Wiliam Carrillo got a free kick in the 44th minute. Pedro Morales blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacinto Chucho having to make a save. The Bahia Azul players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C.A. Independiente were winning 2-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Morales was the one to do the kick off. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Bahia Azul's goalie and right to Wiliam Carrillo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Bahia Azul's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jacinto Chucho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Morales's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. When C.A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Jimenez came free, but Jonas Ignazio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When C.A. Jacinto Chucho came out of the goal and Pedro Morales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bahia Azul's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alexis Ortega was slow to take the kick. During this time C.A. Independiente's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Alexis Ortega almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bahia Azul's Jacinto Chucho did a great save.
