Barcelona FC's Daniel Granados played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio de Andrade in the 3rd minute of play. In the 6th minute, Laércio de Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Internacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 9 minutes into the match, Barcelona FC's goalkeeper Daniel Granados had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laércio de Andrade. 11 minutes into the match, Benet Rano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daniel Granados. Barcelona FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benet Rano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Daniel Granados didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laércio de Andrade went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Daniel Granados made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ege Deniz in the 21st minute of play. Jaime Nuñez kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona FC's zone, Benet Rano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Granados came out of the goal and Benet Rano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the match, Benet Rano notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Barcelona FC's Daniel Granados. Daniel Granados was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Laércio de Andrade succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 8-0 in the 39th playminute. After some careless play in the Barcelona FC defense, Laércio de Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Granados. The Barcelona FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Granados should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Barcelona FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jaime Nuñez hit a great ball. Daniel Granados was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Laércio de Andrade showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 10-0 in the 47 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 10-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Laércio de Andrade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Granados was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. The Internacional fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Internacional's Benet Rano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 11-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 62nd minute, Laércio de Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Granados was frozen by the shot and now it was 13-0. Laércio de Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Granados. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laércio de Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 66th minute Laércio de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Granados saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geronimo Rulli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heriberto Arguedas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Granados showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio de Andrade in the 69th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Laércio de Andrade put it in 14-0 from a short distance just to the right of Daniel Granados. Daniel Granados came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Internacional's Benet Rano. But to his dismay, Benet Rano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 15-0. Internacional's Evaristo Costa was substituted for Laércio de Andrade. Internacional made a substitution. Zigor Abeita replaced Abdelbassir Abubakar. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona FC's zone, Evaristo Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Granados came out of the goal and Evaristo Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute Evaristo Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Granados saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the game, Evaristo Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 17-0. Daniel Granados was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Internacional fully deserved thier win.
