The crowd rose to their feet as Lapachito's Jesus Tiso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Traian Podgoreanu. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. The supporters of FC Buciumii booed when Lapachito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Firman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20thth minute of the game Laurențiu Taşcău who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lapachito's Ciro Aimar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th match minute, FC Buciumii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sorin Răducu to maneuver through the defense. Ciro Aimar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silviu Bârsan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Buciumii's Silviu Bârsan got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Laurențiu Taşcău's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciro Aimar was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Herminio Erruki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Traian Podgoreanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lapachito's Orlando Tajo got a free kick in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jesus Tiso made a kick off. Silviu Bârsan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 minutes of play, Lapachito's Herminio Erruki made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Traian Podgoreanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Laurențiu Taşcău who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Ciro Aimar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Angelino Manuelo hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Silviu Bârsan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ciro Aimar. Lapachito's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Laurențiu Taşcău kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ciro Aimar. That made the score 2-1 in the 79 minute of play. In the 86th minute, Orlando Tajo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Lapachito's Jesus Tiso got a free kick in the 87th minute. Conrado Firman charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Firman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Conrado Firman hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Lapachito's Orlando Tajo got a free kick in the 94th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Silviu Bârsan managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Buciumii's supporters rose to their feet, but Silviu Bârsan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Aimar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lapachito's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
