Chris Draxl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon in the 4th minute of play. In the 4th minute, Xie Sheng Qi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teddy Racine hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Godo Gøl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandros Matsinopoulos's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. SK Fenerbahce Wien's Chris Draxl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benoit Ritieni in the 11th minute of play. FC Lugano's Godo Gøl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandros Matsinopoulos in the 18th minute of play. Chris Draxl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benoit Ritieni in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandros Matsinopoulos in the 24th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1-0 became the score in the 28th minute when Alexandros Matsinopoulos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexandros Matsinopoulos in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Godo Gøl saved FC Lugano from getting behind. After 33 minutes FC Lugano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Thodoris Charalambakis who took care of the corner kick. SK Fenerbahce Wien's Thodoris Charalambakis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Godo Gøl in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 34th minute, Alexandros Matsinopoulos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Godo Gøl, passed just outside the right post. In the 35th minute Alexandros Matsinopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godo Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, SK Fenerbahce Wien's goal looked a bit too open when Ray Büeler came free, but Chris Draxl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When SK Fenerbahce Wien's Alexandros Matsinopoulos in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 45th minute of the match SK Fenerbahce Wien got a corner. FC Lugano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Thodoris Charalambakis ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to SK Fenerbahce Wien's Nereo Rik getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandros Matsinopoulos to strike the kick off in the second half. Godo Gøl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Borke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Godo Gøl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandros Matsinopoulos in the 54th minute of the match. FC Lugano's Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg was substituted for Ray Büeler. FC Lugano made a substitution. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul replaced Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon. SK Fenerbahce Wien made a substitution. Eike Hörtnagel replaced Florian Borke. FC Lugano made a substitution. Gautier Gehrig replaced Teddy Racine. After having played for 62 minutes, Erik Lundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Fenerbahce Wien's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Lundberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The corner led FC Lugano's Julio Palluzzi to fire away a dangerous shot which Chris Draxl despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 79th minute Erik Lundberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godo Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eike Hörtnagel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godo Gøl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nereo Rik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute Brage Thorbjørnsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godo Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul got a free kick in the 91st minute. Godo Gøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Lundberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Godo Gøl came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by SK Fenerbahce Wien's Nereo Rik. But to his dismay, Nereo Rik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SK Fenerbahce Wien fully deserved thier win.
