After a defensive mix-up in FC Jena-Nord 02's zone, Emilio Argina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric McThomas came out of the goal and Emilio Argina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rashko Dodov in the 7th minute of play. Lars Voss hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Jöckel in the 8th minute of play. Willi Tilmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric McThomas having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lei Xiang Rong during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Hannover Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lei Xiang Rong to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, FC Jena-Nord 02's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Argina came free, but Eric McThomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric McThomas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Dölle in the 25th minute of play. Bernd Yuschni made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Leroy Rösch sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute of the match Markus Thalberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eric McThomas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bernd Yuschni made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Samuel Dölle sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leroy Rösch got free with Bernd Yuschni in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, FC Jena-Nord 02's Uwe Schnitzler got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Emilio Argina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emilio Argina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Eric McThomas made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Dölle in the 93rd minute of play forced Hannover Reds's goalkeeper Bernd Yuschni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC Jena-Nord 02 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hannover Reds's performance. The match ended with a win for Hannover Reds.
