The crowd rose to their feet as FC Lugano's Yusuf Ziya Cerit slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lew Maurer. That made the score 4-0 after 25 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Lara got free with Lew Maurer in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olivier Ostermann to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Fred Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lugano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. FC Lugano made a substitution. Julio Palluzzi replaced Nereo Precioso. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Fred Lara got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Yann Wirz came free, but La Para reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Lugano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
