But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Halldor Sönksen couldn't finish the play. Markus Bresack made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eckard Döngelli in the 34th minute. Hannes Dittmar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Tim Wiese tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Hannes Dittmar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Friesenwerdermoor's supporters rose to their feet, but Hannes Dittmar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Wiese breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ricky Pflug's late challenge caught a SV Bad Harzburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricky Pflug helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, Friesenwerdermoor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Pflug to maneuver through the defense.
