Simon Vogelsang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 9th minute of play. Michael Bremicker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernhard Henrich in the 13th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the game, Finn Seel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TSV Delliehausen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sydney FC the free kick. 17 minutes into the game, one of TSV Delliehausen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Simon Vogelsang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Schäfer in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd match minute, TSV Delliehausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Neffin to maneuver through the defense. Per Schäfer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Simon Vogelsang when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Sertel Ural put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Michael Bremicker. Per Schäfer's late challenge caught a TSV Delliehausen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Per Schäfer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Per Schäfer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herbert Neffin scored 2-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Bremicker, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to TSV Delliehausen getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Sertel Ural hit a great ball. Simon Vogelsang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Per Schäfer in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Sydney FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kai Petermann in the 53rd minute. The corner ended in Kai Petermann almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but TSV Delliehausen's Simon Vogelsang did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Neffin in the 60th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Michael Bremicker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Constantin Ehrgott got a free kick in the 68th minute. Sydney FC's Michael Bremicker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Sydney FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in TSV Delliehausen's zone, Per Schäfer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Vogelsang came out of the goal and Per Schäfer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Per Schäfer struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Simon Vogelsang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sydney FC. In the 73rdth minute of the game Per Schäfer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TSV Delliehausen's Simon Vogelsang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 75th minute of play forced TSV Delliehausen's goalkeeper Simon Vogelsang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per Schäfer in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simon Vogelsang saved TSV Delliehausen from getting behind. After 78 minutes, Per Schäfer made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. TSV Delliehausen's Simon Vogelsang tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd minute, Guy Rothe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sydney FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Michael Bremicker had great luck who in the 85thth minute grab hold of the ball when Gernot Poggenborg from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Sydney FC were furious when Don Küttner was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 88th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Don Küttner to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute of the match Niclas Hölderlin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Bremicker skillfully saved the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sydney FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while TSV Delliehausen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
