After a rather tough play, Academica Pulheim's Hardi Tornau got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academica Pulheim's goalkeeper Ercole Armellini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cosmo Muth in the 10th minute. Enrico Schmedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ercole Armellini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ercole Armellini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolland Sallai in the 16th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Academica Pulheim got a freekick which was hit by Lluterio Gorron. Ercole Armellini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolland Sallai, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Enrico Schmedes got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Nils Deimann. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hardi Tornau in the 46th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Mark Flecken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolland Sallai to make the kick off. Carl Kröger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 53rd minute, Bert Brandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ercole Armellini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulrich Schikaneder in the 54th minute of the match. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s attack was well implemented in the 55th minute, but when Ulrich Schikaneder was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. 58 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Enrico Schmedes came free, but Ercole Armellini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jason Heller kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Academica Pulheim's Meinolf Rebe was substituted for Pinkus Mack. Jason Heller hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florian Schulitz in the 67th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Mark Flecken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ercole Armellini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burkhard Schlick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Wladimir Rodrigues was substituted for Rolland Sallai. In the 71st minute, Jason Heller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mark Flecken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moritz Christe in the 77th minute of the match. After 80 minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Florian Schulitz who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Academica Pulheim's corner Florian Schulitz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mark Flecken quite easily take care of the ball. In the 84th minute Florian Schulitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Flecken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87thth minute of the game Moritz Christe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Mark Flecken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hardi Tornau struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Mark Flecken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academica Pulheim. In the 91st minute, Moritz Christe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Wladimir Rodrigues came free, but Ercole Armellini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Academica Pulheim walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
