Medero Gadea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niklas Sauter having to interfere. Medero Gadea hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Patrick Knechtli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fritz Nettig, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Niklas Sauter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herve Muller in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Niklas Sauter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Medero Gadea. Patrick Knechtli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fritz Nettig, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Niklas Sauter made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Medero Gadea sent off a good shot on target. Fritz Nettig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Patrick Knechtli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Medero Gadea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fritz Nettig came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fritz Nettig couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Raik Topuz made the kick off in the second half. Téo Savion scored 1-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niklas Sauter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 57th minute of the match Marcellus Walpert shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Niklas Sauter showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 61st minute, Medero Gadea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Téo Savion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niklas Sauter having to interfere. The supporters of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. booed when Olympique Fribourg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gene Emmenegger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niklas Sauter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Medero Gadea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruce Pesch during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bolko Röhmer kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Martin Braun got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Marcellus Walpert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Olympique Fribourg players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
