When Detlev Caluzi fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Rägi's protests and gave Detlev Caluzi a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes FC Rägi got a freekick which was hit by Detlev Caluzi. In the 4th minute, Damien Schlesinger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Balus Treter's Edmund Wildemann got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 12th minute, Ekpenyong Vogler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthias Merk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Cornetti in the 13th minute of play. When Heinrich Schwarz fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Rägi's protests and gave Heinrich Schwarz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Ekpenyong Vogler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd play minute Adolfo Buschor came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matthias Merk. 1-0. In the 29th minute, Edmund Wildemann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthias Merk was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Brian Cornetti capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brian Cornetti really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 33rd match minute, FC Rägi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jirko Cotti to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Maxi Blattmer fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 39 minutes into the match, Brian Cornetti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matthias Merk. Balus Treter's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brian Cornetti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 42nd minute, Brian Cornetti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brian Cornetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Matthias Merk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Rägi made a substitution. Harry Catalusci replaced Jirko Cotti.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brian Cornetti to make the kick off. Edmund Wildemann charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmund Wildemann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edmund Wildemann hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alois Ritschel in the 62nd minute of play forced FC Rägi's goalkeeper Ingvar Bourdette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Rägi getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Tizian Figini hit a great ball. Edmund Wildemann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ingvar Bourdette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Balus Treter defense, Brian Cornetti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matthias Merk. The Balus Treter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matthias Merk should have stopped the shot. After 75 minutes, Gerd Schlüter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balus Treter and the FC Rägi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Gerd Schlüter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian Cornetti in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matthias Merk saved Balus Treter from getting behind. 85 minutes into the game, Adolfo Buschor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Matthias Merk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of FC Rägi booed when Balus Treter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damien Schlesinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Rägi's Adolfo Buschor got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Gerd Schlüter came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Balus Treter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerd Schlüter couldn't finish the play. If Brian Cornetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that FC Rägi were the better team. FC Rägi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
