With his leg Fonso Zotillo managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Grêmio Prudente's Edson Ribeiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fonso Zotillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edson Ribeiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Fonso Zotillo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Quinto Fonticoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fábio Montoia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edson Ribeiro spun around in front of the goal 35 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of XV de Piracicaba's goal. Quinto Fonticoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Montoia, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Fonso Zotillo made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Edson Ribeiro sent off a good shot on target. Vicente Pedroso's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fonso Zotillo firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 46th minute, Vicente Pedroso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Grêmio Prudente booed when XV de Piracicaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Remo Goiano made the kick off in the second half. Patrick Leite charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Leite the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Leite. Grêmio Prudente made a substitution. Christiano da Cunha replaced Pedro Augusto Sena. After taking down the ball on Grêmio Prudente's corner Gomesano Gatica fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fonso Zotillo quite easily take care of the ball. After 83 minutes of play, Grêmio Prudente's Gomesano Gatica made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fonso Zotillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86thth minute of the game Edson Ribeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but XV de Piracicaba's Fonso Zotillo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grêmio Prudente's Josué Batista was substituted for Carlos Puyol. Grêmio Prudente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by André Stolesbjerg in the 88th minute. Fonso Zotillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Ribeiro in the 91st minute of the match. Fonso Zotillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Ribeiro in the 94th minute of play. Grêmio Prudente were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
