After a defensive mix-up in Tello AFC's zone, Kaan Öztanır stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmacio Pello came out of the goal and Kaan Öztanır tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute Pastor Nofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Buturugã saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Garcia's late challenge caught a LOI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sulo Montaña got free with Dalmacio Pello in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. George Buturugã took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Cordearo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Uriel Cordearo in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck George Buturugã prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the match, LOI's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Cordearo came free, but George Buturugã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
