After having played for 19 minutes, Åke Fors managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Degerfors IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Fors was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Håkan Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paes in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Degerfors IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Kihlman to maneuver through the defense. Degerfors IF's Christian Håkansson suffered a sore thigh after 33 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 33 minutes into the game, Jacinto Valle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Degerfors IF the free kick. In the 35th minute, Jacinto Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaroslaw Kolbe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Håkan Söderberg made a huge save. In the 39th minute Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. were awarded a corner. Pedro Paes went to the cornerflag to take it. Pedro Paes hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Degerfors IF made a substitution. Tuncay Cansever replaced Åke Fors. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tuncay Cansever to strike the kick off in the second half. The Degerfors IF fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Degerfors IF's Tuncay Cansever looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tuncay Cansever blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wellington Fernandes having to make a save. Verner Frykberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Bueno in the 68th minute of play forced Degerfors IF's goalkeeper Håkan Söderberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Jaroslaw Kolbe notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Degerfors IF's Håkan Söderberg. Håkan Söderberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tuncay Cansever could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Wellington Fernandes made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Tuncay Cansever managed to get in a good position for a shot. Degerfors IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Tuncay Cansever was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wellington Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Wellington Fernandes managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Degerfors IF's Tuncay Cansever fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 84th minute Jaroslaw Kolbe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Degerfors IF's goal looked a bit too open when Jaroslaw Kolbe came free, but Håkan Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s Emílio Bueno got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 86th minute, Tuncay Cansever made a precise shot to the right of Wellington Fernandes. The Degerfors IF players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
