Ivan Trindade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gentil Vasques in the 3rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Albertino Lobato took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Octávio Moita to make any attempt to save it. In the 10th match minute, Esquadrão Lusitano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aprígio Brás to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, SC Braga's Octávio Moita got control of the ball when Albérico Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Braga's zone, Sabino Carrasqueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octávio Moita came out of the goal and Sabino Carrasqueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egídio Paixão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 played minutes, SC Braga's Hélder Trindade shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivan Trindade came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Braga reached it. Albertino Lobato scored 3-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Octávio Moita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Octávio Moita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Ivan Trindade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Calado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esquadrão Lusitano's Ivan Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Paixão in the 77th minute of play. Albérico Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Octávio Moita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octávio Moita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertino Lobato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 83 played minutes Esquadrão Lusitano got a freekick which was hit by Aprígio Brás. Octávio Moita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albérico Amorim in the 89th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Esquadrão Lusitano had won after a very even match.
