The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romário Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jairo Vasconcelos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Eurico Figueira made a huge save. The Atlético Minuano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Renato Velloso should have stopped the shot. Adelino Gama received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Paulo Renato Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Gremio Viana were the better team. Gremio Viana's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
