If Adolfo Garaile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, NECKER49's Çelikan Başsoy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Severino Ekialde. Severino Ekialde yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Cipriano Abajas charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Abajas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, NECKER49's Cipriano Abajas got a free kick in the 27th minute. Keylor Navas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Gentza in the 36th minute of play. Severino Ekialde was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Çelikan Başsoy showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 38 minute of play. Severino Ekialde made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Prudencio Lavalle sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Ursino came free, but Severino Ekialde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 88th minute Prudencio Lavalle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Ekialde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prudencio Lavalle might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Ekialde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prudencio Lavalle ran back to his position shaking his head. The NECKER49 fans cheered their team off the field, for while ATLETICO MENDOZA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
