After taking down the ball on Capibaribe Stars's corner Wilton Fontes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and César Motta quite easily take care of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Daniel Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of César Motta. PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 14 minutes, Alan Vieira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽ and the Capibaribe Stars players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albino Gaskon did an outstanding performance 16 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-0 to the right of an irritated César Motta in the goal. With an all-out effort, Capibaribe Stars's César Motta threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Daniel Sousa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 20th match minute, PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Machado hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Daniel Sousa did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised César Motta 24 minutes into the match. After 27 played minutes PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽ got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio de Toledo. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilton Fontes was slow to take the kick. During this time Capibaribe Stars's players had a chance to rest. César Motta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Sousa's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Daniel Sousa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without César Motta having to make a save. César Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽! After a defensive mix-up in PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽'s zone, Daniel Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Motta came out of the goal and Daniel Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agostinho Baptista was the one to do the kick off. César Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihnea Zamfir in the 51st minute of play. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Daniel Sousa sped through PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of César Motta. Daniel Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. César Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Sousa in the 56th minute of the match. César Motta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Sousa went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽ defense, Daniel Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of César Motta. The PERNAMBUCO CLUBE ⚽ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that César Motta should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Capibaribe Stars players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
