The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 吴洲坚 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Pankracy Glogowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Godoi in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute Palestra do Interior were awarded a corner. Hudson Sergipano went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which 吴洲坚 managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 19th minute, Emil Chwalkiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Paulo Godoi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pankracy Glogowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi. But to his dismay, Paulo Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice moves Lázaro Cuartio could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Allan Varela however easily saved by the left post. 44 minutes into the game, 吴洲坚 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Pankracy Glogowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético Atlanta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hudson Sergipano was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Hudson Sergipano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pankracy Glogowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Marcos Berdoi hit a great ball. Palestra do Interior's attentive Herbert Pankowski managed to snatch the ball when Emil Chwalkiewicz made a throw-in in the 57th minute of the game. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Erroman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st minute Paulo Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Paulo Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Berdoi in the 67th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Pankracy Glogowski made a huge save. 72 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Berdoi came free, but Allan Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Şevket Çağa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vitório Lago in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vitório Lago in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pankracy Glogowski saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago. But to his dismay, Vitório Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.
