With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gernando Pernambucano in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olov Ahlquist saved Glentown FC from getting behind. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Angelo Peruzzi got control of the ball when Hasta Alfonso tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute Gernando Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Ahlquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund MZB defense, Hasta Alfonso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Peruzzi. The Borussia Dortmund MZB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Peruzzi should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hasta Alfonso. In the 41st minute Gernando Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Ahlquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Pernambucano in the 43rd minute of play forced Glentown FC's goalkeeper Olov Ahlquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Luís Fabiano Leão made the kick off in the second half. Borussia Dortmund MZB were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Glentown FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luis Blasi took the corner. The corner ended in Luis Blasi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Glentown FC's Olov Ahlquist did a great save. Angelo Peruzzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hasta Alfonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Fransson came free, but Angelo Peruzzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Gernando Pernambucano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Ahlquist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Oséias Palmeira was substituted for Gernando Pernambucano. Olov Ahlquist made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Oséias Palmeira sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralf Fransson in the 72nd minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olov Ahlquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival Koehler in the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute of the match Borussia Dortmund MZB got a corner. Glentown FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luis Blasi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Borussia Dortmund MZB's Luis Blasi to fire away a dangerous shot which Olov Ahlquist despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Guga Capixaba hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 83rd play minutes Ralf Fransson shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Angelo Peruzzi and just under the crossbar into goal. Luís Fabiano Leão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Olov Ahlquist when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
