The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Aristide Ispirescu fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Timișoara's protests and gave Aristide Ispirescu a yellow card for diving instead. Aristide Ispirescu hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Isac Frunză fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Bratiloveanu having to interfere. Iustin Buligan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Costin Ignătoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to AFC PunisherS™ getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Isac Frunză hit a great ball. Dinu Corlățean took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Costin Ignătoiu. AFC PunisherS™'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Sever Ţurcaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC PunisherS™'s goalkeeper Costin Ignătoiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Costin Ignătoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Corlățean in the 22nd minute of the match. Albert Bratiloveanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mădălin Barbonța, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Constantin Uncu fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC PunisherS™'s protests and gave Constantin Uncu a yellow card for diving instead. 29 minutes into the match, AFC PunisherS™'s goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Buligan came free, but Costin Ignătoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mădălin Barbonța came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the AFC PunisherS™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mădălin Barbonța couldn't finish the play. Albert Bratiloveanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isac Frunză in the 35th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ionel Babeș made a kick off. The supporters of AFC PunisherS™ booed when Club Atlético Timișoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Caramarin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Club Atlético Timișoara's Nichifor Dorineanu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nichifor Dorineanu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Atlético Timișoara protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nichifor Dorineanu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Mădălin Barbonța sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute of the match Nae Malcoci shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albert Bratiloveanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 75th minute, Dinu Corlățean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Isac Frunză got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinu Corlățean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of AFC PunisherS™ booed when Club Atlético Timișoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Caramarin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th match minute, AFC PunisherS™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Malcoci to maneuver through the defense. Iustin Buligan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Costin Ignătoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. When Mădălin Barbonța came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the AFC PunisherS™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mădălin Barbonța couldn't finish the play. After 97 minutes, Iurie Nediu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Timișoara and the AFC PunisherS™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, AFC PunisherS™'s Mihnea Costea tried to score from far away in the 98th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Club Atlético Timișoara's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
