Peñarol's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 5 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Xaiver Rosende as he didn't even see the shot coming. Gong Ao Guang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mădălin Bănățeanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Vali Stamate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaiver Rosende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's Gong Ao Guang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mădălin Bănățeanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gong Ao Guang might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mădălin Bănățeanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gong Ao Guang ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 12th minute of play forced S.S. United Buzau's goalkeeper Mădălin Bănățeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Gong Ao Guang left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. Peñarol fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to S.S. United Buzau getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gelu Bărbat hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Gong Ao Guang made a precise shot to the right of Mădălin Bănățeanu. S.S. United Buzau's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Gong Ao Guang took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mădălin Bănățeanu. Mădălin Bănățeanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Mădălin Bănățeanu came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. Peñarol's Gong Ao Guang. But to his dismay, Gong Ao Guang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. If Gong Ao Guang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38thth minute of the game Gong Ao Guang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.S. United Buzau's Mădălin Bănățeanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gong Ao Guang struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Mădălin Bănățeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Peñarol. In the 42nd match minute, C.A. Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Goran Lindegger to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Gong Ao Guang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mădălin Bănățeanu was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 1-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gong Ao Guang in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mădălin Bănățeanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 57 minutes of play, C.A. Peñarol's Gong Ao Guang made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mădălin Bănățeanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gong Ao Guang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mădălin Bănățeanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to S.S. United Buzau getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Mugurel Lupșoiu hit a great ball. With a little luck, S.S. United Buzau's Mădălin Bănățeanu got control of the ball when Gong Ao Guang tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute, C.A. Peñarol's Gong Ao Guang ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mădălin Bănățeanu. Mădălin Bănățeanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-9. Xaiver Rosende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Stamate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nicolas Alen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.A. Peñarol made a substitution. Anselmo Velin replaced Gong Ao Guang. The crowd rose to their feet as Anselmo Velin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mădălin Bănățeanu. That made the score 1-10 in the 76 minute of play. Anselmo Velin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anselmo Velin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Mădălin Bănățeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.A. Peñarol were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after S.S. United Buzau's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jimeno Infante took the corner. C.A. Peñarol's Jimeno Infante was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mădălin Bănățeanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Anselmo Velin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mădălin Bănățeanu having to interfere. C.A. Peñarol's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
