In the 11th minute Fritz Ernst Joinvilense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Balesio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match AC Rangers got a corner. Botafogo AP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Pedro Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Sotero, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute Fritz Ernst Joinvilense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Balesio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosendo Balesio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fritz Ernst Joinvilense in the 30th minute of play. José Pedro Bertassi made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Guido Ler sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Beturian got free with José Pedro Bertassi in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Humberto Beturian managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Rangers's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Beturian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pedro Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wiliam Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. AC Rangers made a substitution. Amancio Inocente replaced Emiliano Aznaro. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Sotero to make the kick off. After some careless play in the AC Rangers defense, Fritz Ernst Joinvilense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rosendo Balesio. AC Rangers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
