Dave Savini made in the 8th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Dave Pierucci however managed to control. 10 minutes into the game, Miguel Lehoi threw the ball into play from the sideline. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Dave Savini quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Dave Pierucci came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the S.S.C. NAPOLI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Pierucci couldn't finish the play. S.S.C. NAPOLI's attentive Dave Savini managed to snatch the ball when Miguel Lehoi made a throw-in in the 15th minute of the game. In the 20th minute of the match S.S.C. NAPOLI got a corner. Falconara Albanese's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristiano Bani ran over to the corner to take the kick. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Cristiano Bani was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Osvaldo Vergaray in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 21st match minute, Falconara Albanese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Sanson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of S.S.C. NAPOLI booed when Falconara Albanese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Gergori didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Pierucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Falconara Albanese's goalkeeper Osvaldo Vergaray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dave Pierucci. Osvaldo Vergaray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Pierucci in the 31st minute of the match. Edoardo Proietti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Sanson, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute Falconara Albanese were awarded a corner. Raimundo Domingues went to the cornerflag to take it. Falconara Albanese's Osvaldo Vergaray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Falconara Albanese from getting a goal against them. S.S.C. NAPOLI were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Falconara Albanese's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cristiano Bani took the corner. A well done corner resulted in Dave Pierucci drilling the ball in to score 2-0 behind Falconara Albanese's goalkeeper. Osvaldo Vergaray made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dave Pierucci in the 42nd minute. Dave Pierucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Vergaray having to interfere. Falconara Albanese's attentive Maximino Eleder managed to snatch the ball when Dave Savini made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ricardo Tab was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Falconara Albanese defense, Dave Pierucci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldo Vergaray. The Falconara Albanese fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldo Vergaray should have stopped the shot. Osvaldo Vergaray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Pierucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Edoardo Proietti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Sanson in the 57th minute of play. Falconara Albanese's Marcos Tercero was substituted for Jacinto Sanson. Falconara Albanese made a substitution. Placido Fonso replaced Miguel Lehoi. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Marcos Tercero sped through S.S.C. NAPOLI's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edoardo Proietti. Osvaldo Vergaray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Pierucci in the 69th minute of play. Placido Fonso hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, S.S.C. NAPOLI's goalkeeper Edoardo Proietti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Tab. Falconara Albanese's Fernando Gergori got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Comunardo Bertoni got a free kick in the 87th minute. S.S.C. NAPOLI's attentive Richard Nixon managed to snatch the ball when Placido Fonso made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. 95 minutes into the match, Marcos Tercero dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edoardo Proietti, 3-2. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. S.S.C. NAPOLI were victorious despite being under pressure from Falconara Albanese for much of the match.
