An unexpectedly hard shot by Carter Pallini in the 17th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Ezequiel Osmundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezequiel Osmundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carter Pallini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Carter Pallini got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Club's goalkeeper Ezequiel Osmundo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Edoardo Proietti got control of the ball when Celedonio Endira tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.S.C. NAPOLI's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Uriel Manex was slow to take the kick. During this time Racing Club's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Uriel Manex almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but S.S.C. NAPOLI's Edoardo Proietti did a great save. Uriel Manex, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emiliano Pari charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emiliano Pari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Racing Club booed when S.S.C. NAPOLI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Pari didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes S.S.C. NAPOLI got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Scarinci. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lino Fidencio made a kick off. S.S.C. NAPOLI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Urbano Ramond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 84 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by David Eguen. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Pari got free with Ezequiel Osmundo in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 85 minutes, Jacobo Meder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Club and the S.S.C. NAPOLI players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of S.S.C. NAPOLI booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Meder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urbano Ramond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edoardo Proietti having to interfere. After 89 played minutes S.S.C. NAPOLI got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Bani. Racing Club's Uriel Manex got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edoardo Proietti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lino Fidencio's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. In the 92nd match minute, S.S.C. NAPOLI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Savini to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Ramond in the 98th minute of play forced S.S.C. NAPOLI's goalkeeper Edoardo Proietti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Racing Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while S.S.C. NAPOLI had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
