In the 38th minute Delmiro Tabor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Malvin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danilo Seber in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo Valadares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Paulo Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albino Canor in the 44th minute of the match. After 47 played minutes Santos de Buenos Aires FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Gipuzkoa. Santos de Buenos Aires FC made a substitution. Raimundo Joey replaced Rafael Gipuzkoa. In the 48th minute, Rafael Gipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

After 53 minutes of play, San Lorenzo's Kara Melo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benjamin Malvin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jan Wallman hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Bruno Cambiasso was substituted for Danilo Seber. After 60 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Jan Wallman. Benjamin Malvin came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo's Eduardo Soriano. But to his dismay, Eduardo Soriano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Benjamin Malvin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Tabor in the 73rd minute of play. Bruno Cambiasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Zé Paulo Valadares made a huge save. The supporters of Santos de Buenos Aires FC booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Estebano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Federico Chan charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Federico Chan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Federico Chan. Zé Paulo Valadares made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Bruno Cambiasso sent off a good shot on target. Zé Paulo Valadares came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Bruno Cambiasso. But to his dismay, Bruno Cambiasso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Lorenzo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Matias Remir was slow to take the kick. During this time Santos de Buenos Aires FC's players had a chance to rest. Eulalio Blai succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-3 in the 95th playminute. If Albino Canor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Santos de Buenos Aires FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant San Lorenzo side.
