The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bennvar Trollegaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Björnberg having to interfere. Vatan Enfal was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Inter de Chillán's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 15 played minutes VILLARREAL UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Ercole Passalacqua. 19 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Voicu came free, but Anton Björnberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tobías Izamit made in the 29th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Vatan Enfal however managed to control. In the 30th minute of the match, Florencio Jax tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Baraxil Sarrate saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tobías Izamit made a great header on Inter de Chillán's corner, it was just that VILLARREAL UNITED's Baraxil Sarrate managed to reach the ball for a save. Valentin Voicu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anton Björnberg having to make a save. 35 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Voicu came free, but Anton Björnberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Vatan Enfal made the kick off in the second half. Tobías Izamit took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baraxil Sarrate. Baraxil Sarrate dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Vatan Enfal kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Anton Björnberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Voicu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Voicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anton Björnberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. VILLARREAL UNITED's Yusuf Kaya was substituted for Valentin Voicu. VILLARREAL UNITED's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Delmar Campello in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yusuf Kaya in the 79th minute of play forced Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Baraxil Sarrate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Inter de Chillán's Anton Björnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pacôme Daire in the 91st minute of play. Baraxil Sarrate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickard Erserman in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th match minute, Inter de Chillán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mercurio San Martín to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute of the match Delmar Campello shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anton Björnberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. VILLARREAL UNITED's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
