Colombia made a substitution. Zaquiel Puredo replaced Cristiano Ronaldinho. Colombia's Rene Sampedro was substituted for Oriche Isazi. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sansone Poso to strike the kick off in the second half. Zé Dos Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Higuita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Dos Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rene Higuita should have stopped the shot.
