The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rune Vallman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rune Vallman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmond Kubiak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmond Kubiak succeeded in the game's 20th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. The Avel Vat fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Avel Vat's Youri Djorkaeff looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Edmond Kubiak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rune Vallman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Youri Djorkaeff in the 30th minute of play. Rune Vallman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Youri Djorkaeff's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the game, Youri Djorkaeff cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Rune Vallman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Avel Vat fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Avel Vat's Youri Djorkaeff looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 40th minute, Youri Djorkaeff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rune Vallman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. When Avel Vat's Youri Djorkaeff in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico Sweds's goalie prevented a goal. If Patric Gregersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

The supporters of Avel Vat booed when Atletico Sweds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Rune Strandberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 played minutes Atletico Sweds got a freekick which was hit by Ernst Hedlund. Youri Djorkaeff who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Rune Vallman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Youri Djorkaeff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Rune Vallman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Avel Vat's Edmond Kubiak dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-11. 76 minutes into the match, Atletico Sweds's goalkeeper Rune Vallman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Youri Djorkaeff. A hard shot by Guillaume Minier from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Rune Vallman's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Moïse Labruyère showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernst Hedlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 83 minutes of play, Avel Vat's Youri Djorkaeff made it 0-12 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rune Vallman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ilan Champion hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Lilian Thuram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Vallman having to interfere. Rune Vallman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmond Kubiak, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Sweds's zone, Edmond Kubiak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rune Vallman came out of the goal and Edmond Kubiak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Avel Vat played a much better game than Atletico Sweds and deserved their victory. The Atletico Sweds players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
