Tarcisio Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tarcisio Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrianinho Furtado's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Tiago Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evandro Maia in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Walmir Dias, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Furtado in the 16th minute of play forced EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 minutes, Rafa Coutinho made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes into the match, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiago Machado. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafa Coutinho during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 25 played minutes Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® got a freekick which was hit by Rafa Coutinho. In the 25th minute, Belmiro Sanches got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Toninho da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s protests and gave Toninho da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Rafa Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, EDI MZB's Aníbal Velasco got a free kick in the 36th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Maia came free, but Walmir Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The EDI MZB players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafa Coutinho to make the kick off. If Toninho da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafa Coutinho hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evandro Maia in the 85th minute of play forced Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
