The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. João Paulo Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Cabral in the 3rd minute of play. Reis United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. João Paulo Urbano had in the 6thth minute some difficulties stopping Silvério Pires's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the S.C. Reis United defense, Silvério Pires kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Paulo Urbano. The S.C. Reis United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Paulo Urbano should have stopped the shot. Juninho Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. João Paulo Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmir Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Reis in the 13th minute of play. Baltazar Nascimento struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. João Paulo Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Primatas FC. 16 minutes into the match, Primatas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Reis came free, but Walmir Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elano Reis in the 24th minute of play forced Primatas FC's goalkeeper Walmir Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Silvério Pires put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of João Paulo Urbano. In the 46th minute Natanael Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvério Pires couldn't finish the play. When José Pedro Garcia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 83 minutes had been played. Walmir Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Fontes in the 85th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Silvério Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Paulo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pinto Gigante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.C. Reis United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gugu Leme was slow to take the kick. During this time Primatas FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Primatas FC's corner Gugu Leme fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and João Paulo Urbano quite easily take care of the ball. Primatas FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
