After having played for 7 minutes, Ismael Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JFSP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Velloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 10 played minutes JFSP got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Gonçalves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Barral in the 11th minute of play forced JFSP's goalkeeper Thibault Mamardashvili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Benedito Trancoso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thibault Mamardashvili. JFSP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benedito Trancoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vambola Probach in the 19th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo José Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. A hard shot by Ismael Velloso from long distance, 20 minutes into the match, got Nestor Quintal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Delfim Antunes got a free kick in the 59th minute. Nestor Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Mendes got free with Thibault Mamardashvili in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luís Ceresso in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Neiva came free, but Nestor Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. JFSP's Thibault Mamardashvili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Barral in the 89th minute of play.
