After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Hélio Furtado got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Fabiano Negri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Wellington Montenegro made a huge save. In the 39th minute Glauco Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Luciano Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0.

With a little luck, Capivara FC's Lúcio Domingues got control of the ball when Célio Mangueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 76 minutes, Ivo Furtado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capivara FC and the Joinville Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card.
