The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nicolas Thein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Matias Kusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 22nd minute, Matias Ruisko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christof Baier was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Matias Kusko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christof Baier having to interfere. A collision led to Mertendorf FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nikolas Bockisch hit a great ball. Lars Oliver Johannsen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Mertendorf FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 36 minutes into the game, Matias Kusko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Christof Baier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

If Matias Ruisko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matias Kusko in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christof Baier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Papagayos's Faustino Elorri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Thein in the 57th minute of play. Papagayos's Matias Kusko got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matias Ruisko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christof Baier having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Mertendorf FC's zone, Matias Kusko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christof Baier came out of the goal and Matias Kusko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 66 minutes into the match, Papagayos's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Oliver Johannsen came free, but Faustino Elorri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute Nicolas Thein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Elorri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Nikolas Bockisch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Kusko in the 74th minute of play forced Mertendorf FC's goalkeeper Christof Baier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mertendorf FC's goalkeeper Christof Baier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lars Oliver Johannsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Faustino Elorri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Oliver Johannsen in the 87th minute of play. Papagayos's Faustino Elorri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolas Bockisch in the 91st minute of play. The supporters of Mertendorf FC booed when Papagayos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Ruisko didn't get a good kick on the ball.
