An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitório Lago in the 35th minute of play forced Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Celso Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Tihomir Donevski in the 39th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Palestra do Interior's Eugênio Alagoano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 40th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tihomir Donevski's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tihomir Donevski helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dr Lecter SC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Tihomir Donevski hit a great ball. Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Godoi in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Corneliu Dridu made the kick off in the second half. Corneliu Dridu kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Palestra do Interior's Celso Trevisan threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paulo Godoi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 54 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Godoi came free, but Celso Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Godoi made a great header on Palestra do Interior's corner, it was just that Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan managed to reach the ball for a save. 69 minutes into the game, Vitório Lago recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Celso Trevisan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Godoi in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celso Trevisan saved Dr Lecter SC from getting behind. Dr Lecter SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laércio Guedes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Palestra do Interior's Percival Cruz was substituted for Paulo Godoi. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Palestra do Interior had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
