But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Cavalera couldn't finish the play. Alysson Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute Nestor Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alysson Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Zimmermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Toby Major got a free kick in the 29th minute. Dida Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Igor Cavalera's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The audience was convinced that Igor Cavalera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Taffarel was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Toby Major got a throw-in 35 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nestor Paraibano. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Cavalera in the 38th minute of play. Marquês de Herval's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ogro F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Toby Major hit a great ball. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Vergílio in the 55th minute of the match. Alysson Rezende dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Van Halen in the 77th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Nicko McBrain came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ogro F.C. were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Marquês de Herval's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jerônimo Vergílio took the corner. In the 84th minute Igor Cavalera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicko McBrain in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 94 minutes into the game, German Cano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alysson Rezende. German Cano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3.
